Set between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, this Art Deco boutique-size 1936 hotel is in the middle of Miami Beach. The boardwalk, a half-block from the hotel, runs parallel to the ocean from 42nd Street (where the hotel is) down to the beginning of the official Art Deco District. So guests can walk down to South Beach on the boardwalk for restaurants, shops, and nightlife.
The lobby of the Ocean Spray Miami Beach Hotel contains the original terrazzo floor. Art Deco “eyebrows” (layers of ledges above the doorway) are visible on the exterior. Renovated and re-opened in 2003, the Ocean Spray has new, clean, furnishings, many European. The front porch contains Philippe Starck Bubble Club patio furniture.
